In my opinion, “Going Green” means “Going Crazy”. It’s one in the same to me. When I see people talking about the environment and saying buzz words like “eco-friendly” and “green”, I see people who are slowly losing their minds - or who are wanting you to lose yours.
I do believe it is man’s responsibility to care for the earth. God gave us custodianship over the world he created and the animals he placed on it, and therefore it should not be taken lightly. So I don’t mind “no littering” signs and I get ticked when I see someone do it. Recycling makes perfect sense to me if we’re talking about things that can truly be recycled and reused and aren’t cost-prohibitive to do so. Pouring chemicals onto the ground and therefore into our water supply should be a one-way ticket to prison. I even get irritated the more and more I see beautiful Georgia hillsides mowed clear of all trees so a company can put up a shopping center (I mean seriously, you can’t work around at least a FEW trees???) But short of that, it all seems like a big joke to me.
Organizations either use it as a basis to control you, to win your vote or to sell you something. It’s really that simple to me.
- Governments and politicians use environmental issues as a means to nose into your business, your company’s business and earn votes from environmentalist-whacko’s at the same time.
- Organizations like Greenpeace, Earth Liberation Front, and others use the “green” cause as a way to suppress capitalism (if it were cool to be a Communist, many of the people in those organizations wouldn’t be in those organizations - they’d be at Communist rallies.)
- Most of your everyday people who support eco-friendly this or that do so because it’s hip to be green: Leo drives a Prius, therefore I want to. Fur is cruel to animals, so that is so yesterday now. Brad and Angelina are building eco-friendly, self-sustaining homes in New Orleans, so I want one, too… oh wait, I can’t afford that!
Again, I think we have to be responsible residents of the Earth, but more and more we’re all being brainwashed by celebrities, news media, anti-capitalist organizations, and self-serving politicians. And more and more people and companies are jumping on the bandwagon, contributing to their own destruction.
Isn’t that what we’re doing? Destroying ourselves slowly by putting more value on anything “green”, be it plants, water, air, or animals? We even put more importance on the Earth and animals then we do the Creator of it all. Heck, a lot of the people who place higher value on the organic don’t even believe there WAS a Creator.
So we’re all going to hell in an eco-friendly, 100% organic, no-animals-harmed-during-testing, made in China hand basket!

less-crappy product)

Even our local parenting magazine is all about “Going Green” this month. Our poor little kids are going to know more about how to be “green” then they’ll know about American History, our political system, and economics.
